2004 Chevy Suburban Battery Drain

I have a battery drain in a 2004 chevy silverado i put a new battery in and a new alternator but after it sits for a day the battery is dead there is a battery drain coming from somewhere i ve never used a multimeter before to check things if that is the case then i don t know what to set it on or that much how to go about doing it im trying not to take it to a garage cause right now i just.

Gauge failure was noted on 2 10 2009. Gauges do not return to zero while vehicle is not operating. Where should i start checking. Checked all lights doors etc.
